Fat Pig

For our production of Fat Pig, I was the props designer and assistant scenic designer. Our theme called for two different worlds: Tom's world would be in grey-scale, while Helen's world would be in jewel tones. Fat Pig had two major challenges, in addition to the standard props. The first was that we needed live food; two of the actors had to eat in half of the scenes. Making this more complicated, the actress playing Helen (the primary eater) had numerous food allergies, necessitating some creative solutions. The second major challenge was that we decided to perform in "Smell-O-Vision." Using a scent diffuser and fan hidden just off the stage, I was able to evoke specific smells in certain scenes.
