Christopher Durang's Medea
Classroom project
September 2010
Medea was my second project in graduate costume design. We were required to produce inspirational images, various breakdown sheets, and final renderings for the seven characters. This was my first time using watercolors for the renderings, which was a fun challenge.
First, I did research into the Grecian characters that Durang based his play on. I looked at images of Ares and Aphrodite, warriors, goddesses, and also found a surprisingly large amount of pottery with sexual scenes painted on it.
*Warning: Some of the figures in the following images are partially or fully nude.*
