Tabards
For the show Pippin
Directed by Elise Marinkovich
Francis Parker
Fall 2017
While not the main costume designer on this show, I was called on to design the tabards for the battle scene. For this, I taught the students how to make these and supervised their creation.
Since the tabards were required for two different scenes - one where all characters were on the same side and one where they were battling each other - the tabards needed to be double sided. The gap between these two scenes was also a quick change, so the tabards also had to be easy to flip back and forth.
